Analysis of the State statistical reports on the activity of Orphan's and Custody Courts in 2019, in Latvian

The publication compiles data provided by Orphan's and Custody Courts on baseline indicators of their activity, thus providing insight in work of Orphan's and Custody Courts and situation in respect to the protection of the rights of children and dependents in the country as a whole.

Reports of the Orphan's and Custody Courts on work provide information on the main trends in protection of rights and interests of children and dependents, in such directions of activities as termination and restoration of custody of parents, out-of-home care of children, custody, provision of out-of-home care, placing children in care of another person, as well as information on decisions of Orphan's and Custody Courts and their appeal.

In the analysis of reports of Orphan's and Custody Courts on work in 2019 a comparison of statistical data over a 4-year period, except for areas where statistical data have not been obtained in previous years, is used, taking into account that after changes in normative acts since 2017 the form has been supplemented with sections not included in the previous years.
