Life expectancy
Life expectancy at birth is the mean number of years that a person would be expected to live if the mortality rates for each population age group remained the same as in the year of birth throughout the person’s lifetime.
People in Latvia live on average five years longer than in 1991, and life expectancy is increasing gradually. However, males tend to live shorter life than females (by 9–11 years).
