Activities of court. Administrative cases

The Court Administration of Latvia organizes and ensures the administrative work of district (city) courts, regional courts, as well as provides official statistics on the operation of courts.

Administrative cases

The cases brought to administrative court based on the application regarding legality and validity of an administrative act or actual action of an institution as well as clarification of the public legal obligations or rights of a private person. Application to administrative court may be submitted by any natural or legal person governed by private law if a public authority, in its capacity as a public authority, by adopting a decision addressed individually to that person or by taking an action in respect of that person, has infringed the statutory (subjective) rights of the person. An application to court may also be submitted by a third party the rights or legal interests whereof have been affected by the respective decision.
