Mean age of mother at childbirth
The mean age of mothers at childbirth has been increasing since 1994. The greatest number of children are born to mothers in the age group 25–34. At the same time, more children are born to mothers over the age of 40. An increase can also be observed in the number of newborns being second, third and fourth children in families as well as in their share of the total number of newborns.
The mean age of fathers is also increasing.
