In June actual unemployment rate was 6.5 % and registered 5.1 %

Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) estimate shows that in June 2024 actual unemployment rate in Latvia was 6.5 % and it has reduced by 0.1 percentage points over the month. Over the year actual unemployment rate has not changed.

Unemployment rate for men fell by 0.3 percentage points to 6.8 % and for women did not change staying at 6.1 %.

The unemployment rate registered with the State Employment Agency (SEA) was 5.1 %. It has reduced by 0.1 percentage points over the month and by 0.4 percentage points over the year.

In June 2024 there were 62.0 thousand unemployed persons in Latvia (29.4 thousand women and 32.6 thousand men), which is 0.9 thousand fewer than a month ago and 0.5 thousand more than a year ago. Over the month, the number of unemployed men reduced by 1.0 thousand and of unemployed women increased by 0.1 thousand.
