Producer price index in industry
Producer price index (PPI) in industry is an indicator characterizing industrial production price fluctuations over a set period. It reflects changes in the selling prices of industrial products manufactured and services provided in Latvia. The index shows price trends separately for the domestic market and for the non-domestic market (exports).
The base year of the PPI is 2021, expressed as 100 index points (2021 = 100).
The PPI is used to calculate the industrial production (volume) index, to estimate gross domestic product at constant prices, and for economic analysis and international comparisons.
Producer price changes
Year-on-year price changes reflect price movements over a 12-month period, with each period compared with the corresponding period one year earlier
Month-on-month price changes reflect movements in the average price level over a one-month period, with each period compared with the preceding month (short-term trend).
