Fuel prices decreased by 6.7 % during the month
Central Statistical Bureau data show that in June 2026 the average level of consumer prices for fuels for transport was 6.7 % lower than in May. The largest contribution to the overall decline came from an 8.2 % fall in diesel prices. Auto gas prices fell by 8.2 %, while petrol prices decreased by 2.5 %.
Compared with June 2025, the average level of consumer prices for fuels for transport in June 2026 was 16.8 % higher. Diesel prices increased by 18.9 %, petrol prices by 15.6 % and auto gas prices by 5.4 %.

Compared with the 2025 average, the average level of consumer prices for fuels for transport in June 2026 was 15.2 % higher. Diesel prices increased by 15.8 %, petrol prices by 15.6 % and auto gas prices by 6.4 %.
Methodological information
Prices of fuels for transport are collected centrally four times each month up to the 25th day using both in-person price collection and the LETA website. The sample includes the largest retailers, selected based on the retail turnover. Retail turnover is also used to determine internal weights, ensuring that each retailer contributes to overall price changes in proportion to its turnover. Depending on the type of fuel, the number of price observations collected for each retailer may vary, while the weights remain unchanged throughout the year.
