Over the month, the average level of consumer prices fell by 0.3 %

The data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in November 2025, compared to October 2025, the average level of consumer prices reduced by 0.3 %. The drop in prices of goods and services related to transport, mainly of passenger transport by air, contributed the most to the price level change. As prices of coffee, fresh fruit, cheese and curd, fruit and vegetable juices, milk and poultry reduced, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages went down.

In November 2025, compared to October 2025, drop in prices of goods and services related to transport (0.2 percentage points), food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.1 percentage point) as well as price rise in miscellaneous goods and services group (0.1 percentage point) contributed the most to the price level changes.

Over the month, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages declined by 0.5 %. Due to the discounts, price drop for coffee (of 2.3 %) had the strongest downward influence on the average price level within the group. Prices of fresh fruit went down (3.0 %). Mainly due to the discounts prices of cheese and curd reduced by 2.5 %, of fruit and vegetable juices by 6.8 %, of milk by 2.8 %, of poultry by 1.6 %, of dried, salted or smoked meat by 1.0 %, of ice cream by 4.0 %, of milk products by 1.5 %, of chocolate by 1.5 %, of breakfast cereals by 6.0 %, of butter by 2.0 %. Prices decreased also for potatoes (5.6 %) and pork (1.0 %). In turn, price rise was registered for fresh vegetables (9.4 %) as well as for dried, smoked or salted fish (6.3 %). Due to the end of promotions, upturn was recorded in prices of pasta products (2.9 %) and bread (0.4 %).

The average level of alcoholic beverage and tobacco product prices reduced by 0.5 %. Due to the drop of beer and spirits prices, alcoholic beverages were cheaper by 0.8 %, while prices of wine went up. Over the month, prices of tobacco products increased on average by 0.1 %.

The average level of health care prices grew by 0.5 %. As the sales campaigns ended, pharmaceutical products had the strongest upward influence on the price level within the group (0.8 %).

Prices of goods and services related to transport decreased by 1.2 %, which was mainly affected by the drop in prices of passenger transport by air. Prices of fuels for transport went up by 0.6 %, of which prices of diesel by 0.9 %, of petrol by 0.7 %, but prices of auto gas went down by 1.4 %. 

Prices of goods and services related to recreation and culture fell by 0.6 %. The greatest pressure on the price changes was put by the drop in prices of package holidays, fiction books and flowers. 

Within the miscellaneous goods and services group prices increased by 2.0 %. Prices of articles for personal hygiene and beauty products and retirement home fee for elderly persons increased. 

Among other commodity groups, the most notable drop was registered in prices of hotel services, natural gas, heat energy, footwear. In turn, prices of electricity, garments as well as household cleaning and maintenance products became more expensive.

In November, annual inflation was 3.8 %

Compared to November 2024, in November 2025 the average level of consumer prices* increased by 3.8 %. The average level of consumer prices was mainly influenced by the rise in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.4 percentage points), mainly of coffee, poultry, eggs, chocolate, bakery products, dried, salted or smoked meat, beef and bread. Also, rise in prices of goods and services related to housing (1.1 percentage points), goods and services related to transport (0.3 percentage points) contributed significantly to the price level changes.

Over the year, prices within the group of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 5.2 %. Price rise for coffee (of 34.2 %) had the strongest upward influence on the average price level within the group. Prices increased for poultry (15.5 %), eggs (19.6 %), chocolate (17.2 %), bakery products (4.7 %), dried, salted or smoked meat (2.5 %), beef (26.6 %), bread (2.0 %). Upturn was also recorded in prices of fresh fruit (2.9 %), dried, smoked or salted fish (17.9 %), preserved or processed fish and seafood-based preparations (8.8 %), milk (3.1 %), tea (12.1 %), yoghurt (4.2 %), soft drinks (7.9 %). Decline, in turn, was registered in prices of fresh vegetables (2.1 %), olive oil (8.9 %), potatoes (6.1 %), flours and other cereals (3.2 %).

The average level of alcoholic beverage and tobacco product prices rose by 2.1 %. Over the year, average increase of 9.4 % was observed in prices of tobacco products. Mainly due to the decrease in prices of spirits and beer, prices of alcoholic beverages went down by 1.8 %. 

Average price level of goods and services related to housing rose by 6.2 %. Over the year, the most significant rise in the prices was for electricity (14.2 %). Maintenance charges in multi-occupied buildings (7.8 %), heat energy (2.0 %), services for the maintenance and repair of the dwelling (10.6 %), rentals for housing (6.6 %), water supply (6.7 %), sewage collection (8.9 %), refuse collection (5.1 %) and natural gas (2.2 %) became more expensive. In turn, solid fuels became cheaper (2.3 %).

The average level of health care prices grew by 3.7 %. Over the year, prices in medical specialist practice, dental services, services of medical analysis laboratories and x-ray centres went up. 

Prices of goods and services related to transport increased by 2.2 %, which was mainly affected by the rise in prices of fuels for transport by 2.5 %, of which of diesel by 3.5 %, of auto gas by 9.6 %, in turn average level of petrol prices remained unchanged. Over the year, prices of other services in respect of personal transport equipment, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, passenger transport by air increased. In turn, second-hand motor cars became cheaper.

The average level of restaurant and hotel service prices increased by 5.4 %. Upturn was observed in prices of catering services, of which prices of restaurant and café services rose by 4.9 %, of canteen services by 6.2 % and of fast food services by 8.2 %. Prices increased for hotel services (2.7 %).

The most significant upturns among other commodity groups were recorded in prices of telecommunication services, garments, television subscription fee, pre-primary education, higher education, retirement home fee for elderly persons, recreational and sporting services and jewellery. In turn, prices of articles for personal hygiene and beauty products, flowers, motor vehicle insurance went down.

Compared to 2015, in November 2025 consumer prices were 51.9 % higher. Prices of goods increased by 50.0 % and prices of services by 55.3 %.

In November 2025 average consumer price changes in last 12 months, compared to the previous 12 months (annual average inflation) was 3.7 %.

Information on consumer price changes in December 2025 will be published on 13 January 2026.

* The annual inflation reflects consumer price changes, comparing the average price level in the comparison month with the average price level in the corresponding month of the previous year.

 

Methodological information:

 

The consumer price survey is a sample survey with targeted sample at all levels. It is conducted each month from 4th to 20th date, distributing the price collection evenly over the survey period. In 2025, the CPI sample includes 544 goods and services, the prices of which are recorded regularly. Approximately 2 000 trade and services outlets are surveyed. In total, about 24.5 thousand prices are observed each month.
