7. Statistical processing (data source etc.)
Source data
Stock balance of previous years of geological documentation issued by the National Geological Service, State Agency “Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Agency” and State Environmental Service (hereinafter – SES), reports on the extraction of mineral resources submitted by SES regional environmental boards, LEGMA's databases “Deposits of construction raw materials”, “Peat deposits” and “Sapropel and sludge” have been used to produce the balance sheet.
Data collection
The balance sheets summarize the data on active stocks in the deposits used in the respective year. Until 2018 (inclusive) balances of mineral resources, construction raw materials, peat, sapropel and healing sludge deposits are provided for the deposit as a whole.
Starting from 2019, balance sheet is being produced by mining sites.
Data compilation
Stock balance of mineral resources (construction raw materials, peat, sapropel and healing sludge) has been prepared by the state Ltd “Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre” in accordance with Article 5 of the Law of the Republic of Latvia “On Subterranean Depths”.
