Gross Capital Investment (quarterly data)

Statistics on gross capital investment provides information on gross capital investment in tangible goods (land, in existing buildings and constructions, in construction and reconstruction of buildings, machinery and equipment and other fixed assets) and gross capital investment in concessions, patents, licenses, trade marks, purchase of software and other intangible investments.

Economically active enterprises

Gross capital investment data are acquired from economically active enterprises with main kind of activity NACE Rev. 2 sections A-S, central and local government-financed institutions, central and local government-financed and controlled enterprises.

The data source is quarterly statistical report No 6-investment “Report on investments” elaborated by the CSB.

The survey includes:

• central and local government-financed institutions with the number of employed 50 and more;
• central and local government-financed and controlled enterprises;
• all enterprises with the number of employed 100 and more;
• new enterprises registered in the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia in the previous year after 1 July, and the total value of transactions in the previous year comprising EUR 1 million and more;
• other enterprises - using random sampling method.

In 2021, 5 212 enterprises were surveyed each quarter.

Each quarter until the 15^th date information on industrial production output during the reference period at current prices is collected according to NACE Rev. 2.

Data on industrial production index are acquired from the report No 6-investment “Report on investments”. Mainly data are submitted in the form of e-report, other means of submission (mail, e-mail, by the telephone) are less common.

Gross capital investment in tangible and intangible assets and in concessions, patents, licences, trade marks, purchase of software and other intangible investments are acquired by summing data accordingly sections and divisions of NACE Rev. 2.
