Data description
Every six months, data on the volume, tariffs and costs of electricity transmitted, distributed and sold received from the electricity transmission, distribution operators and electricity traders are compiled and used to calculate average electricity prices for household consumers and non-household consumers.

Statistical population
All economically active electricity traders, distribution and transmission operators which have received licence for electricity trade, distribution and transmission from the Public Utilities Commission (Regulator). The enterprise shall be classified under the NACE Rev. 2 code 35.1 “Electric power generation, transmission and distribution”.

The data are compiled based on the Regulation (EU) 2016/1952 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on European statistics on natural gas and electricity prices and repealing Directive 2008/92/EC.

The data are collected by conducting a full-scope survey and using a form 1-EC "Report on Average Electricity Prices". The data acquired are used for the calculations.

Data compilation
The prices refer to the national average prices set for the household consumers and direct non-household consumers. The prices are expressed in euros per kilowatt hour. Calculations are based on the weighted prices which are calculated in line with the electricity supply enterprise market share in each of the consumption groups.
