Data description
Experimental statistics is produced by using new data sources and methods in making attempts to expand the range of statistics or the level of detail thereof based on the needs of data users.
It should be noted that the methods used in experimental statistics are not constant, approbated or internationally harmonized and can be changed to improve data quality.
Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) publishes experimental statistics to get user feedback, evaluate analytical potential of the data and relevance thereof to the actual reality and data user needs. By publishing experimental statistics, the CSB provides data users with new sources of information that may be used for decision making.
To meet the data user needs requiring more detailed territorial breakdown of statistics, based on the results of annual crop survey CSB has compiled experimental data on average yield of cereals, pulses and rape in counties. The sampling method and sample size used in the crop survey allows producing statistics in line with the quality requirements provided for in the Regulation (EC) No 543/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, i.e., data at regional level, therefore the information arranged in breakdown by county is experimental.
The data on average yield of main agricultural crops (cereals, pulses and rape) characterise development of crop production sector in counties over the period from 2015 to 2017.

Source data
Data on sown areas, harvested production and average yield of agricultural crops are obtained via sample survey using CSB questionnaire 2-LS "Crop production".
Data collection
The sample was formed as stratified simple random sampling. Holdings are stratified by their location (NUTS 3), type of farming and economic size – standard output in crop production.

Data compilation
The CSB has produced experimental statistics for average yield of cereals, pulses and rape in counties.
In line with the CSB methodology, the farm indicators are grouped by the main production site of the farm, i.e., sown area of a county includes sown areas of the farms the main production site whereof is located in the respective county as well as sown areas of the respective farms located in other counties, but does not include sown areas of farms the main production site whereof is located outside the respective county.
