Data on use of pesticides on agricultural crops are acquired with the help of sample survey.
Data collection
Sample is formed as stratified simple random sample in a way to ensure that specific indicators may be presented on the country as a whole. Holdings are stratified by the location thereof (NUTS 3), total sown area, and definite sown area threshold for each crop to be registered.

Data compilation
When extrapolating data on the holdings surveyed to all agricultural holdings in the country, the number of similar holdings to be represented by the holdings surveyed, as well as actual response rate in each of the territories surveyed is taken into account.
