Statistics on weather in Latvia and selected cities and towns include data on various meteorological indicators on monthly and annual basis, such as mean air temperature, total precipitation, average wind speed, number of days with frost.

The calculation of mean air temperature and total precipitation in Latvia includes 25 and 33 automatic meteorological observation stations of LVHMC, respectively. City stations:

• Rīga, Raiņa bulvāris 19 (wind, hours of sunshine, precipitation) and Kronvalda bulvāris 4 (air temperature, air humidity, snow depth);
• Daugavpils, Nometņu iela 161;
• Liepāja, “Liepaja observation station”, Grīnvalti;
• Alūksne, “Mākoņi 1”, Ziemera parish;
• Priekuļi (Cēsis), Selekcijas iela 2B;
• Dobele, “Dobele meteorological station”, Bērzes parish;
• Zīlāni (Jēkabpils), Ošu iela 6;
• Kolka, “Rīti” (air temperature, air humidity, precipitation, snow depth) and “Brigas” (wind, hours of sunshine);
• Ainaži, “Pelmas”, Liepu iela 7;
• Stende, “Spāres”, Dižstende.

All indicators, except the number of days calculated later from the daily data, are collected continuously at automatic observation stations.
