Comparable data are available since 2016.
On 1 January 2022, amendments to the Criminal Law entered into force, replacing the criminal penalty of forced labour with community service. Data on convicted persons sentenced to forced labour are included under community service.
Data for the period 1990 - 2015 are available in the archive database.

Data collection
Courts Administration is a direct administrative institution subordinate to the Minister of Justice, which organizes and ensures the administrative work of district (city) courts, regional courts, and also provides official statistics on convicted persons.
The statistics do not include data on those convicted with an prosecutor' penal order.
Data compilation
The statistics are compiled by the main criminal offense and the main type of punishment (article of the criminal law), a convicted person may be convicted under several articles of the criminal law and one convicted person may have several types of punishment.
